[Elliot meanwhile has no idea he made Sorey scared of him, and continues on like normal]
It's about a teenager I know. To put it simply, he's been through a lot of trauma and has some anger issues that is made worse by a possession with a contract that involves fighting.
He said he'd consider therapy, but I think he's convinced that he'd "scare off any therapist" and that's he's doomed - so there's a good chance he just said that to get me off his back.
Still...do you happen to have any colleagues that are aware of the supernatural and specialize in trauma and anger management?
[Sorey patiently listens to what Elliot has to say, though he does start looking up some of the colleagues he could potentially refer him to.]
I do, as it happens, and they're local to Kaisou, so there shouldn't be too long of a drive. There's one here at the office I work at who's aware of the supernatural, and she's fantastic with helping teens manage their anger and work through their trauma.
Let's see... ah, there's another small office where they exclusively deal with supernatural clients. Currently, there's a male therapist and a non-binary therapist who are open for new clients as young as 16 up through adulthood. Their office closes at ten at night.
Do any of these options sound like possibly good fits for him? I can pull up more if not.
[Elliot makes a sound like he's exhaling. Thank goodness]
Both of those sounds great to me! I'm not sure which he would prefer, but I know it's always best to shop around with therapists anyway so just having a list when he's ready to take the next step would be great!
Though uh, this might be a little more difficult, but do you think there's a way to verify their backgrounds and identities? He was... [He hesitates because it's private and dark information, but honestly it is important] He's one of the victims of that Krusnik group, so he's understandably a little paranoid that any professionals might be connected to them.
[Elliot knows the chances of that is low but. Yeah. Trauma based paranoia sure is a thing]
[Sorey's got a smile on his face in the knowledge that he's helped Elliot out quite a bit with his recommendations.]
Fantastic! If he doesn't like any of them, I'll be happy to give you more options. I'll email their information to you before I leave today.
[Ah... Krusnik. This explains much, in fact, after seeing Jun's little Q&A and all the people who came forward during that incident. Sorey makes a soft hum as he thinks for a moment.]
I can certainly vouch for the one in the facility I work in, and for myself. I can try to do some digging for my other colleagues I mentioned to make sure, but I can't deny the possibility of a false negative, so to speak. That being said, for his ease of mind, it would not be unreasonable to have someone he trusts out in the waiting room. Even better if they have some way of quick communication if trouble happens. Just because the odds of them working for that horrific place are very low given the ethics of our vocation, it doesn't mean that it's not completely impossible.
Great, thank you so much! You can send it to my personal email. It's- [Insert music-pun email name here]
I completely understand. Secret organizations do have a nasty habit of being, well, secret. There's only so much we can comb through people's past. [As seen by well...Willow, which Elliot is not going to bring up]
Having someone in the waiting room though isn't a bad idea. It'd do a lot to reassure him. I don't think he puts much stock into my abilities, so maybe I can ask Jusis or Rean to go with him instead.
[Sure he'd like to point out he is capable of taking care of problems too, but this is more about reassuring Ash than anything]
[Sorey writes that down with a cheerfully chirped, "Thanks!"]
Unfortunately, it's true, and innocent people usually get hurt because of it. I try to choose to trust that most people are good in their intentions, but still maintain a healthy amount of caution. That's very much a personal choice, though.
[It's the only way to keep himself from jumping at shadows that might not even be there.]
Perhaps it's because he's never seen that side of you. Still, two people should be more than sufficient for his comfort, but I wouldn't begrudge him a third if he felt he needed to have that many.
Eheh, that's a viewpoint I can respect. I try to be like that, but it works out less than I'd like...
[He's a bit more cynical than people would expect out of him, much to his dismay]
Oh, he has! We took down a monster together earlier this month. I think he just hasn't gotten over that I'm short, I'm used to that from some of my guy students. [Them teenagers in love with their growth spurt] I'll talk to the others about it. Thanks Dr. Rosewood.
There's nothing wrong with that, I don't think. Experiences greatly color our choices. Whether it's good or not depends on how it makes you feel, at the end of the day.
[Ah, yes, that'd do it. Sorey is just glad that he knows size means nothing in terms of whether or not someone can take another person down.]
Hopefully he grows out of it... It's not a problem at all, Elliot! Thank you for asking. I hope it all works out for him, I really do.

[It will at least be considered during his daily bout of undeserved self-ridicule. ]
Here's hoping! Maybe once he grows up and matures some.
Yeah, I hope so too. Still, you've been a great help. You take care, okay?

[And he'll hang up so he can send that email over.]
