Unfortunately, it's true, and innocent people usually get hurt because of it. I try to choose to trust that most people are good in their intentions, but still maintain a healthy amount of caution. That's very much a personal choice, though.

[It's the only way to keep himself from jumping at shadows that might not even be there.]

Perhaps it's because he's never seen that side of you. Still, two people should be more than sufficient for his comfort, but I wouldn't begrudge him a third if he felt he needed to have that many.

Eheh, that's a viewpoint I can respect. I try to be like that, but it works out less than I'd like...

Oh, he has! We took down a monster together earlier this month. I think he just hasn't gotten over that I'm short, I'm used to that from some of my guy students. [Them teenagers in love with their growth spurt] I'll talk to the others about it. Thanks Dr. Rosewood.

There's nothing wrong with that, I don't think. Experiences greatly color our choices. Whether it's good or not depends on how it makes you feel, at the end of the day.
