[Sorey waits patiently, despite the awkward silence. He just pets his adorable Comfey friend to her absolute delight. At the clearing of Takame's throat, the brunet's full attention is on him.]

What would you like to talk about, Takame? Or do you prefer if I'm more formal with you?

No, Takame is fine. [Preferred, even. Whatever it took for people to not be intimidated by him.

Again he went quiet for a bit.]

You offer your services as a, ah... Psy... Mm. [He mumbled trying to recall the word, making very clear that English was not his first language for once. "Sai... saiko? Saikolo...?"]

Psychologist? A doctor of the mind, correct?

[He waits patiently again, though he hears that Japanese sounding accent. He's not entirely sure that it is Japanese, but it sounds fairly similar. At Takame's question, Sorey nods.]

Yes, that's right.

[An archaic form of it, but one close enough he spoke with his boyfriend in it regularly and it was understood.

The only indicator Takame gave that he was a bundle of nerves was off screen with his aggressively twitching tail that Sakuya hopped down to bap at. It's good that Sorey was so patient with all these long pauses.]

I. Was curious about... taking you up on your services. I'm unsure of how they work in practice but give what I... [Have had to deal with for his entire life, not just in this past month. He sighed quietly. Kami, why was this so nerve wracking?]

I believe I can benefit from speaking with a specialist.

[A combination of his training and general personality gives him almost a saint's patience. Sorey waits, then nods with a small smile.]

That's understandable. It does involve us having a conversation each session, but my job is to help you in those conversations. It won't be a straight path forward, though. You'll take some steps back or go off on a different road for a bit, but that's okay and normal.

If you'd like Sakuya with you each session, that's also perfectly fine by me and my office!

I see. Such is the way of any journey. [Be it literal or figurative. Looking at it in that way made it a little less intimidating. Only a little. There was a difference in seeking new frontiers and the mind palace.

Sakuya being brought up caused the Eevee to hop back up onto the table next to Takame who gave a sort of sympathetic expression.]

Mm. Perhaps I will, if he would like to come. [He gave the Eevee some pet pets.] It won't be very pleasant to hear though, my little friend.

Pleasant or not, I get the feeling that little Sakuya wants to be there for every step of your journey. Alice was the same way, honestly.

[She chirps and cuddles up to the brunet's cheek. He grins as he carefully pets her little body. His attention returns to Takame, though.]

Do you have a particular day and time you want to have therapy sessions with me?

[As if in response, Sakuya nodded while nuzzling against Takame's scaly hand. His expression softened at the Eevee, as if trying to will a smile that never came.

Unmistakably in Japanese, he thanked his little friend before his attention returned to Sorey.]

Hmm... My nights are often busy with work, and my afternoons often just as much with another job. I am up early every day, so I believe the mornings during the week would be best.
