Oh, as well as can be expected. [With a thin smile, he settled the dark glasses on top of his head and glanced around. Comfortable, with nothing suspect or out of place--not that he assumed anything strange would be out in the open, this wasn't the Association where people kept preserved hydras in jars on a shelf.]

[Leaning his cane against the couch, Waver sat down and crossed his favored right leg over his left, hands folded and a calmly professional air about him.]

I expect you've found yourself busy, I hope it's not overwhelming.

Oh, definitely, but I've been managing well enough. Mostly, I decompress after a long day with a feel-good movie and a cup of tea.

[He's been steadily working through his entire Disney collection. That's about how well he's doing right now.]

Would you like to talk about anything in particular today, Waver?

I'm afraid there was nothing immediately specific on my mind, no. [Casting a wide net, sensible enough.]

This is also something of a new experience for my part, we don't exactly count psychiatric specialists among the people I work with back home. Would it be better to start with a wider overview of the situation? I should warn you it's likely to sound...very implausible in places.

Alright, well. I was born in Manchester to two second-generation mages, and lived there until I was about sixteen. At which point I moved to London in order to attend what is essentially a university for the study and development of magecraft.

When I was nineteen, I left school and went to Japan in order to participate in a large-scale magic ritual and deal with the eventual fallout therein. I went back home a couple years later and ended up taking a teaching position as wellas establishing myself with an aristocratic house.

So that's about the shape ofwhere my life's at, or was before I found myself in a random American city infested with dinosaurs.

Did you enjoy your time at the university? Or do well during your time there?

'Enjoy' is a strong word.

[He spoke with an undercurrent of sarcastic bitterness, but then again he seemed to just talk like that in general.]

I like studying magecraft, and I find fulfillment in developing and refining my skills. However, people like myself are not exactly deemed of particular value in the Clock Tower. Those who come from nothing have no bloodline amplifying their magical power or skills, so my time as a student was...not without its difficulty.
